Estrela Founder Receives Prestigious Katz Award

Greg Dooley November 17, 2017

We are very proud of Estrela's founder, Kristina Dooley, who received the prestigious Katz Award at the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) Conference in Washington D.C this week. Kristina was one of 36 IECA members recognized for their work with pro bono students as part of The Possibility Project in New York City. Congratulations to Kristina and the other award recipients!

The Katz Award is presented in honor of Irvin W. Katz, who was an IECA founder and treasured mentor to many. His life of service and commitment to young people is remembered through these annual awards, established by Irv's family in 2006 to recognize extraordinary community service contributions by IECA consultants. A plaque is presented to each recipient and a $2,000 award is given to a non-profit educational program or school designated by the honoree.
